Dr. Ram Vinay Pandey is a scientist, innovator and entrepreneur based in Vienna. He serves as a Senior Scientist/Project Leader at the Medical University of Vienna and is the Founder and CEO of NextGen Immuno Therapeutics and Bharat Immuno Private Limited. His work focuses on computational biology, artificial intelligence and precision medicine, developing innovative approaches for immune-related diseases, including Graft-versus-Host Disease (GVHD), autoimmune disorders and immuno-oncology.

Dr. Pandey has lived in Vienna for more than 18 years. He completed his PhD through the Austrian Institute of Technology (AIT) and the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna (BOKU), and later conducted postdoctoral research at the Karolinska Institutet in Sweden. His journey from student to scientist and entrepreneur reflects dedication, perseverance and innovation, and gives him a strong personal connection with students, researchers and young professionals building their own futures in Austria.

His scientific work has resulted in 42 peer-reviewed publications, more than 3,987 citations and an h-index of 28, according to Google Scholar. He has participated in numerous international conferences and scientific events as a speaker and expert and has contributed extensively to precision medicine and translational biomedical research.

Through his research and entrepreneurial activities, Dr. Pandey has secured competitive funding from leading Austrian research and innovation organisations, including the Austrian Science Fund (FWF) and Austria Wirtschaftsservice (AWS). His experience spans academic research, innovation and entrepreneurship, with a particular interest in translating scientific ideas into solutions with meaningful societal impact.

Community Engagement

Beyond his professional achievements, Dr. Pandey is deeply committed to strengthening and connecting the diverse Hindu community across Austria. As Vice President of the Hinduistische Religionsgesellschaft in Österreich (HRÖ), he works to bring together students, professionals, families, senior members, temples, spiritual organisations, volunteers and regional and linguistic Hindu communities, while respecting their distinct traditions, identities and contributions.

He has a particular interest in supporting students and young professionals through mentorship, career guidance, professional networking and opportunities in education, research, innovation and entrepreneurship. Having himself come to Austria as a student and built his academic, scientific and entrepreneurial journey here, he believes that established members of the community can play an important role in helping the next generation find opportunities and build successful lives in Austria.

At the same time, he strongly believes in intergenerational connection. Senior members of the Hindu community carry decades of experience, cultural knowledge and Dharmic values, while younger generations bring new ideas, energy and perspectives. Creating opportunities for these generations to learn from and support one another is an important part of building a sustainable community for the future.

He also believes that the diversity of Hindu traditions in Austria is one of the community's greatest strengths. Different regional, linguistic, cultural, temple and spiritual communities should be able to preserve their own identities and traditions while also coming together through HRÖ on matters of shared interest.

His Vision

His vision is an inclusive, connected and forward-looking Hindu community in Austria—where every generation and every tradition has a voice, where young people are supported to succeed, where the experience and wisdom of senior generations are valued, and where diverse Hindu communities work together with mutual respect on matters of common interest.

Through dialogue, mentorship, community engagement and collaboration, he hopes to contribute to an HRÖ that connects people, creates opportunities and strengthens the presence and contribution of the Hindu community across Austria.
